#3 Seed Lady Choctaws Blank UAH in 1st Round of GSC Tennis Tournament

CLINTON, Miss. --- The #46 nationally ranked Mississippi College Women's Tennis team blanked the Chargers of UAH 4-0 in the first round of the 2019 Gulf South Conference Tournament this morning from Montgomery, Ala. at the Lagoon Park & O'Connor Tennis Center.

MC came out on fire in the doubles matches with the pair of Alisa Morozova and RebeccaGrace Kimball picking up a victory at the #1 spot and the pair of Sofia Carrera and Paulina Cota securing the doubles point with their win at the #3 spot. In singles, it was the back half of the MC lineup that clinched the 1st round victory for the Lady Choctaws with Kimball, Cota and Aneta Golawska picking up wins to put the match away at 4-0.

MC will improve to 16-5 overall and 10-2 in the GSC, UAH will end their season at 10-11 and 5-7 in GSC play. The Lady Choctaws will be back in action tomorrow in round two of the 2019 GSC Tennis Tournament Championship, where they will face the #2 seed and nationally ranked West Florida Argonauts at 9:00 A.M. at Lagoon Park & O'Connor Tennis Center in Montgomery, Ala.
