CLINTON, Miss. --- The #46 nationally ranked Mississippi College Women's Tennis team blanked the Chargers of UAH 4-0 in the first round of the 2019 Gulf South Conference Tournament this morning from Montgomery, Ala. at the Lagoon Park & O'Connor Tennis Center.
MC came out on fire in the doubles matches with the pair of
Alisa Morozova and
RebeccaGrace Kimball picking up a victory at the #1 spot and the pair of Sofia Carrera and
Paulina Cota securing the doubles point with their win at the #3 spot. In singles, it was the back half of the MC lineup that clinched the 1
st round victory for the Lady Choctaws with Kimball, Cota and
Aneta Golawska picking up wins to put the match away at 4-0.
MC will improve to 16-5 overall and 10-2 in the GSC, UAH will end their season at 10-11 and 5-7 in GSC play. The Lady Choctaws will be back in action tomorrow in round two of the 2019 GSC Tennis Tournament Championship, where they will face the #2 seed and nationally ranked West Florida Argonauts at 9:00 A.M. at Lagoon Park & O'Connor Tennis Center in Montgomery, Ala.
