Mississippi Colege Athletics

David Nichols is entering his 10th year as Sports Information Director at Mississippi College and 14th overall in the Sports Information Office at MC. In 2013-14, Nichols was given the title of Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications as part of the transition to Division II and the Gulf South Conference.

The Collierville, Tennessee native spent the four years prior as an assistant in the Sports Information office spending two years as a full-time assistant after completing a two-year stint as a graduate assistant.

As the SID, Nichols is involved in every facet of the sports information office. Some of his responsibilities include maintenance of the athletics website, production of publications, photography and upkeep of statistics and records.

In 2012-13, the American Southwest Conference named the Mississippi College the Sports Information Department of the Year. Nichols also had his 2011-12 MC Football Media Guide recognized as Third in the Nation by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

As a four-year student at MC, Nichols was consistently on the Dean's List and was selected to Mortar Board. During his final two years he served as the student director of intramurals and was the first student to serve two full years. He received his bachelor of science degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing.

Nichols received his Master's in Business Administration in May of 2008. He is the son of Dennis and Laura Nichols. He is married to the former Tressie Smith of Brandon, MS, and the two have a son, Graham. Tressie is a graduate of Mississippi College in Secondary Education.
