CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team ended the 2018-19 campaign with an 88-75, Senior Night win over the University of West Alabama on Thursday, Feb. 28 inside A.E. Wood Coliseum. The win snapped a two-game slide to the Tigers and knotted the series at 13-all.

The Lady Choctaws picked up career-high, scoring performances from senior
Zan Ratcliffe and junior
Coco Hobson in the contest. Ratcliffe led the team with 24 points while Hobson added 23 points.
Zariah Matthews supplied 13 points. Hobson also led the team with eight rebounds.

Mississippi College shot 51.0 percent from the floor, including a clip of 61.1 from behind the arc. The Lady Choctaws drained a season-high 11 3-pointers in the decision. The Navy and Gold shot 92.6 percent from the free throw line.

Tazsa Garrett-Hammett led the Tigers with 19 points. The effort led a quartet of UWA double figure scorers. J'Nyiah Daniels led the Red and White on the glass with seven rebounds. West Alabama shot 41.9 percent from the field and connected on 80.8 percent from the free throw line.

- Shanell Kitchen knocked down a 3-pointer with 8:45 left to play to place MC up 58-48 in the game. The trey marked the first double-digit lead of the game for the Lady Choctaws en route to the 13-point win.

- The 11 3-pointers are the most in the program since the 2004 season.
- Ratcliffe's previous scoring high was 21 points set against Union on Feb. 9, 2018.
- Hobson's previous total was 19 at Union on Jan. 19, 2019.
- Jamilah Sanders posted a career-high seven assists in the game as she surpassed her previous high of five last set against Union.
- The 3-point percentage marked a season-high while the Lady Choctaws free throw percentage is second best this season.
- Mississippi College outscored West Alabama 56-43 in the second half after the two teams were tied at 32-all at the break.
Mississippi College is a private Christian university located in Clinton, Mississippi with an enrollment of over 5,000 students. MC recently finished their transition process back to NCAA Division II and the Gulf South Conference and will be competing for conference and national championships in the 2016-17 academic year.
