LAUREL, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team cruised to a 98-65 win over Southeastern Baptist on Tuesday night in SBC Chargers Gym.

The Choctaws improved to 4-3 on the season, sweeping the season series against the Chargers, winning both games by 33 points or more.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The Chargers jumped out to a quick 4-2 lead, but the Choctaws scored 11 straight, capped by a jumper from
Winford Ross with 16:36 remaining to go ahead, 13-4.
 - MC kept their smallest lead at five in the first half, and SBC was able to cut the score to 33-28 with 5:56 remaining on a three-pointer from Cameron McDonald.
 - The Choctaws responded with a 10-0 run to push the lead to 43-28 and would take a 43-30 lead to the halftime break.
 - In the second half, MC opened on a 9-2 run to extend the lead out to 52-32 with 18:33 remaining on a layup by
Jacob Taylor.
 - The advantage would not get an closer than 17 the rest of the way as the Choctaws would lead by as many as 38 in the final two minutes of the game.

KEY STATS
 - Five different Choctaws scored in double-figures, led by junior
TJ Ben with a season-high 18 points and a team-high eight assists.
 - Juniors
Keevon Oney and Winceton Ross each had 17 points, while Oney's was a season-high to go along with six assists.
 - The Choctaws outrebounded the Chargers by a count of 50-33, led by 11 boards from Ross and nine from Taylor.
 - Junior
Willie Logan (11) and Taylor (10) were also in double-figure scoring in the win.
 - The Choctaws shot 50% (37-of-74) from the field, including going 21-of-41 (51%) in the second half.
 - The defense held SBC to 39% shooting from the field, marking the fourth time they have held an opponent below 40% this season.

 - The Choctaws are now 2-0 all-time against Southeastern Baptist with both wins coming in the 2019-20 season.
