CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball went to five sets for the second time this season against Gulf South Conference power, West Florida, but came up on the short end of the stick as the Argos spoil Senior Day.

Four Choctaws posted double figure kills in the five sets led by
Lexie Laurendine, who posted her fifth triple-double of the season, with 17 kills, 25 assists and 17 digs.
Kendall Platt and
Lexi Richards each recorded 14 kills while
Jamie Boros added 12.

Levi Lennard dished out 21 assists while
Julia Martin added a roster-best 26 digs. Platt supplied 16 digs followed by
Brandi Bundy with 12.
Kate Bass led the team with six total blocks followed by Richards with four. The Choctaws totaled nine as a team as five different players notched a block in the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Choctaws rode a 6-0 run to a 17-9 lead in the first set, but West Florida clipped the lead to 22-20. The Choctaws responded with three of the final four points to take the set 25-21.
- MC battled back from a 17-15 deficit to take a 23-21 lead in the second. UWF squared the contest at 23-all and held a 24-23 lead. The Choctaws fought off set-point with the next three points to claim the set 26-24.
- UWF jumped out to an 18-11 lead in the third before closing on a 6-2 run to take its first of the match.
- A tightly contest fourth saw Platt tie the contest at 20-all. A 4-1, UWF run placed the visitors in front 24-21. MC battled back to cut the lead to within one, but a JoDee Vaneekeren kill ended the set and sent the match into a deciding set.
- Tied 9-9 in the fifth, West Florida used a 3-0 run to take a 12-9 advantage. MC cut the deficit to 13-11, but the Argos finished off the match with the final two points.Â
