CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer team won their eighth straight match with a 1-0 victory over Christian Brothers on Sunday afternoon at Robert P. Longabaugh Field.
The Lady Choctaws improved to 8-1 with a 6-0 Gulf South Conference record, while the Lady Bucs fell to 7-2-1 and 3-1-1 in league play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 - The tightly-contested match saw a scoreless first half, but MC was able to outshoot CBU by a count of 14-0 in the first 45 minutes.
 - The game-winning goal was scored by senior
Jess Davenport in the 58th minute as she cleaned up a saved shot by freshman
Erin Hederman.
 - The Lady Choctaws would hold on and grab their second shutout of the weekend and third of the season.

 - The Lady Choctaws finished the day with 24 shots, led by four from Hederman, senior
Katie Taylor and junior
Lexi Pund.
 - The defense allowed just three shots in the match and did not concede a single shot on net.

Gabby Kayser notched her second shutout of the season, playing all 90 minutes between the pipes.
 - Riley Chafin took the loss for the Lady Bucs, making seven saves and allowing just the one goal.
