Boston Scores 25 in Loss at West Georgia

CARROLLTON, Ga. --- Junior Brandon Boston netted 25 points but it was not enough for the Mississippi College men's basketball team in a 72-59 loss to West Georgia on Saturday afternoon in The Coliseum.

The Choctaws fell to 4-6 overall with a 1-4 mark in the Gulf South Conference, while the Wolves improved to 9-4 and 4-1 in league play.

TURNING POINT

- The Choctaws held their largest lead of the night at 35-28 as Boston nailed a jumper to open the second half, but the Wolves would score the next 12 points and not look back on their way to a come-from-behind victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- The first half was a back-and-forth affair as neither team held more than a five-point lead as junior Scot Hundt gave MC that advantage at 10-5 with 14:13 to go.
- The score was tied 28-28 with 2:48 remaining in the period, but the Choctaws would score the final five points of the half to take a 33-28 lead into the break.
- Boston seemed to keep the momentum with the Choctaws as he nailed a jumper out of the half, but the Wolves went on the 12-0 run and would not trail the rest of the way.
- MC would cut the score to 40-39 with 15:49 remaining after a pair of buckets by senior Isaiah Austin and Boston, but UWG scored six in-a-row and would eventually hold off any late charge from the Choctaws.
