HUNTSVILLE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team lost a road conference game to UAH, 79-59, on Thursday night in Spragins Hall.

The Choctaws fell to 4-13 on the season with a 1-11 Gulf South Conference mark, while the Chargers improved to 15-5 with an 8-4 mark in league play.

The Chargers would jump out to a quick 12-2 lead over the first six minutes and the Choctaws were not able to get closer than seven points the rest of the contest as UAH cruised to a season sweep of MC.

KEY STATS
Â
 The Choctaws were led by sophomore
Dyllan Taylor with 17 points. The Brandon native has scored in double-figures in each of his last five games and is averaging 14.6 points per game in that span.
Boston was also in double-figures with 11 points, giving him double-figure scoring in 16-of-17 games this season.
Junior
Isiah Brown scored a career-high seven points off the bench, while freshman
Jacob Taylor poured in six with a team-high four rebounds.
The Choctaws shot 23-of-49 (47%) from the floor and turned the ball over just 10 times with only one Choctaw having more than one giveaway.
Malik Cook-Stroupe came off the bench for UAH and scored a game-high 19, while Kaplan had 16 points and eight rebounds.
The Chargers shot 27-of-46 (59%) from the field on the night, going 16-of-18 from the free throw line.
UAH outscored MC in the paint, 34-18, and also had 20 points off turnovers, while the Choctaws just had 13 points off 11 Charger giveaways.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Â
After JJ Kaplan hit the game's opening shot with a three-pointer for the Chargers, junior
Brandon Boston nailed a jumper and made the score 3-2 UAH with 17:33 to go.

From there, the Chargers would score nine straight points and extend their lead to as many as 20 in the first half at 39-19 with 1:50 to go.

The Choctaws would score seven straight points in the final minutes and would eventually see the deficit at 41-26 at the halftime break.

With 16 minutes to go in the second half, Boston would complete a three-point play to cut the score to 50-38, but MC would get no closer as they dropped their 10th consecutive contest.

The Choctaws will head to Cleveland, Tenn. to face Lee University on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. (Central).
