CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team fell to the Lee University Flames this Sunday afternoon by a score of 3-1.
The Choctaws will fall to 5-3-0 overall and 3-2 in Gulf South Conference play.
The Flames will improve to 7-2-1 overall and 5-0 in GSC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Flames come out as the aggressor and were able to take advantage of an MC mistake on defense in the 11
th minute. Jose Orellana's pass was able to get by the MC back line and find Alfie Coldron who finished it giving Lee the 1-0 lead.
- In the 24
th minute Coldron got into the assist column as his pass was able to find Samman Williams who netted the second goal of the day for the Flames making the score 2-0.
- After half time MC was able to settle down and started to fight back against the Flames. The Choctaws were finally able to get on the board in the 78
th minute when
Connor Johnson stepped up to put in a penalty kick making the score 2-1.
- Lee was able to stop the MC comeback and finish off the Choctaws in the 80
th minute when Williams found the net for a second time on the day on a pass from Palle Jespersen giving the match its final of 3-1.

KEY STATSÂ
- This is the third straight match that the Choctaws have fell behind in early in the first half. They were able to complete comebacks against Delta State and Shorter but fell short against Lee.

Connor Johnson's goal was the first goal the Flames have given up in GSC play this season.
- Johnson's penalty kick goal was his fifth on the season and MC remained perfect on penalty kicks this season improving to four for four.

NEXT UP
 - The Choctaws will be back in GSC action next weekend when they travel to Memphis, Tenn. on October 5 to face Christian Brothers and then go to Jackson, Tenn. on Sunday October 7 to face Union. Â
