HUNTSVILLE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team fell to UAH by a score of 5-2 on Sunday afternoon. The loss was MC's first in Gulf South Conference play this season.
The Choctaws will fall to 3-2-0 on the year and 1-1-0 in conference play. The Chargers will improve to 4-2-0 on the year and stay unbeaten at 2-0-0 in GSC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UAH was able to capitalize early in the seventh minute of play as Khalil Bell put the Chargers on the board and give them the early 1-0 lead. The assist on the play came from Vicente Arratia.
- Only ten minutes later in the match, the Chargers got some early insurance when Guy Clennett netted his first of three goals on the day, with the assist coming from Steven Gallagher.
- Clennett struck again just before the half ended with an unassisted goal to give UAH a 3-0 cushion at the break.
- In the second half, the Chargers leading goal scorer added to the lead for UAH. Rafa Moreno had a header find the back of the net to give the Chargers a 4-0 advantage. The assists on the play came from Bell and Clennett. The goal was Moreno's seventh of the season.
- The Choctaws finally cut into the lead in the 56
th when
Rafael Costa scored his first goal of the season making the score 4-1.
- Clennett then finish off the hat trick in the 72
nd minute with another unassisted goal to extend the lead back to four goals.
- The final goal of the match came from the foot of
Victor Bazan, who stepped up to put in a penalty kick for the Choctaws in the 86
th minute. It was Bazan's third goal of the season.

KEY STATS
- UAH was efficient on offense in the match scoring five goals on only nine shots. The Chargers only outshot the Choctaws by one.
- MC was very aggressive in their comeback attempt earning seven corner kicks in the match. UAH didn't have a corner kick opportunity on the day.
- The five goals scored by UAH were the most scored on the Choctaws in a losing effort since 2011, when they gave up six to the University of Mobile.

- The Choctaws will be looking to bounce back in GSC play when they face in-state rival Delta State on September 21 in Cleveland, Miss. The match is currently scheduled for a 4:00 P.M. start time.
