CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Mississippi College baseball team pounded out 11 runs as they run-ruled the University of West Alabama on the second day of the Gulf South Conference Championship.
Four Choctaws posted multiple hit efforts led by
Billy Cameron and
Blaine Crim who each tallied four hits in the contest. The duo combined to drive in seven of the 11 runs in the game.
Ty Alderman and
Dylan Duplechain each added a pair of hits with an RBI.
Hunter Mullis tied a season-high with eight strikeouts in the effort as MC struck out nine Tigers in the contest.
The win over UWA marked the third of the season for Mississippi College.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mississippi College started the game with six runs in the first inning as it capitalized on three hits, two errors and two walks. Five different Choctaws had RBI during the frame.
- Cameron placed MC up 8-0 as he blasted a two-run home run to right field to score Crim.
- Crim drove in the ninth run in the top of the third with a double off the center field wall to score Grant Barber.
- Crim added the 10th run in the top of the seventh with a RBI single and Cameron helped extend the lead further with a sacrifice fly to the deepest part of the field to push Barber home.
- West Alabama recorded its lone run of the game in the bottom of the seventh as Joel Murphy tripled to score Ryan Hughes.
ON THE MOUND
- Hunter Mullis (6-2) tossed 6.0 frames in the win. The senior fanned eight in the game and walked a pair.
- Brandon Kennedy tossed the final frame as he notched a strikeout and a walk.
- Steffon Moore (4-5) took the loss on hill for the Tigers. Moore allowed the first six runs of the game. He was one of four pitchers to take the mound for West Alabama.
NOTABLES
- The run-rule victory is the third of the season for the Choctaws. MC defeated McKendree 21-1 in the final game of the series and turned back Christian Brothers 11-1.
- Crim tied a season-high with the four hits in the game.
- Cameron tied a season-high and notched his fourth, four-hit game of the season.
