FLORENCE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College softball team could not hold onto an early lead in a 7-2 loss to #4 North Alabama on Friday afternoon in the GSC Tournament at the UNA Softball Complex.
With the loss, the Lady Choctaws (29-16) will face West Florida in an elimination game at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Lions (44-5) will now play on Saturday night at 5:30 p.m. with a chance to move on to the championship game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game would be scoreless over the first three innings, as junior
Adrianna Morgan stranded seven UNA baserunners in the first three frames.
- The Lady Choctaws would crack the scoreboard in the fourth inning as junior
Makenzie Nieto doubled to left field with two outs, scoring pinch-runner
Haley Muller from second base.
- The Lions wasted no time getting the advantage in the fifth as they put two runners on base and took a 3-1 lead on a three-run home run from Hannah Shollenberger.
- UNA would tack on two more runs in the sixth with a pair of solo home runs and would extend the advantage to 7-1 with two more runs in the seventh.
- Freshman
Jessica Aron tripled with one out in the seventh inning and scored on an RBI groundout from junior
Alexia Harmon, but the Lions would hang on for the win.

- Sophomore
Carly Crawford had two more hits for the Lady Choctaws, while Nieto and Harmon each drove in a run.
- Morgan (9-2) took the loss for MC, allowing five hits and two earned runs over 3.0 innings.
- Junior
Penny Nichols got the final six outs in the circle, giving up just two hits and one earned run.
- Kara Brewer led the UNA offense with three hits, while Shollenberger and Reagan Tittle each had two.
- Megan Garst (22-2) went all seven innings, giving up six hits and striking out seven.
