HUNTSVILLE, Ala. --- Junior
Kristen Qualls hit her 28th career home run on Friday afternoon, setting a new Mississippi College career record as the Lady Choctaws dropped a pair of road games to #22 UAH at Charger Park.
MC dropped to 24-13 on the season with a 15-10 Gulf South Conference mark, while the Chargers improved to 28-12 with an 18-8 mark in the league.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game started out as a pitcher's duel with both teams being held scoreless for the first three innings.
- The Chargers finally broke through on the first pitch of the fourth inning as Alaina Hampton homered down the left field line.
- MC would answer in the top of the fifth, however, as sophomore
Carly Crawford came up with a two-out, RBI single to score senior
Katherine Lee and tie the score, 1-1.
- UAH broke the game open in their half of the fifth with seven unearned runs, aided by an error and four MC walks, to make the score 8-1.
- The big blow of the inning was a two-out, bases clearing double by Jada Hayes that made the score 6-1.
- MC would put up a fight in the sixth as junior
Kristen Qualls led off with a double and moved to third on a single by junior

- Pinch-runner
Haley Muller would score on a groundout by freshman
Jessica Aron, and Nieto would score on a single by junior
Alexia Harmon to cut the lead to 8-3.
- The Lady Choctaws would score another one on a UAH error to make the score 8-4, but that would be the final run of the contest.

KEY STATS
- Nieto had a team-high two hits for the Lady Choctaws, who lost for just the second time this season when out-hitting their opponent.
- Junior
Adrianna Morgan (7-1) took her first loss of the season, giving up five hits and just one earned runs over 4.2 innings.
- Amber Hammonds led UAH with two hits, while Hayes had a game-high three RBI.
- Kiara Akles (8-3) picked up the victory in the circle for UAH, pitching around eight hits and two walks over 5.1 innings.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- The Lady Choctaws got off to a fast start in the second game with three runs in the first inning as Qualls singled home a run and two more runs came home on a UAH error.
- The teams would exchange runs to give MC a 4-1 lead, but the Chargers cut the lead to just one with two runs in the fifth inning.
- UAH would score three more in the sixth to grab a 6-4 lead, aided by an MC error and two sacrifice flies.
- With two outs in the seventh, Qualls stepped up and hit her seventh home run of the season and 28th of her career, passing Brooke Smitherman (2011-15) for most in school history.
- The joy was short-lived, however, as the Chargers responded in their half of the seventh with two-out RBI single to sweep the doubleheader.Â
KEY STATS
- Qualls finished the game 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored to lead the MC offense.

Katherine Lee also had two hits in the contest, while
Carly Crawford scored twice.
- Junior
Cori Cooper tossed 5.2 innings in the circle for MC, scattering 10 hits with three strikeouts.
- Freshman
Madi Lancaster (2-3) took the loss for the Lady Choctaws, giving up just two hits with two strikeouts over 1.0 inning.
- Ashley Cornell led all hitters with four hits and scored the game-winning run in the seventh.
- Jada Hayes (6-2) picked up the win for UAH, getting the final out of the seventh inning.
