MOBILE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to #8 ranked NAIA opponent University of Mobile on Friday afternoon. With the loss, the Choctaws record now sits at 4-6 overall.
In doubles action,
Joan Valy and
Marcos Rocca grabbed MC's lone point. The duo improved their doubles record to a team-best 7-3 with their 9-8 (7-2) win over Mark Simons and Tim Buehler in the number one flight.
In singles, Valy and Lucio Menzes grabbed MC's two points. Both won in straight sets, as Valy bested Mark Simons 7-6 (7-3), 6-0 in the number one spot, while Menezes knocked off Boris Klingebiel 6-4, 6-3 in the number two spot.
Sanders Barrick made his single's debut for the Choctaws in the match, dropping a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Tim Buehler in the number one flight.
The Choctaws will return to action at Spring Hill College on Monday, March 12 at 10:00 a.m.
