CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 Gulf South Conference match to the Statesmen of Delta State University on Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, the Choctaw's record now sits at 4-5 overall, and 0-4 in GSC play.

The Choctaws took two of the three double's points up for grabs, with
Marcos Rocca and
Joan Valy (9-7), and
Lucio Menezes and
Max Nilges (8-5) both improving their double's records to 6-3 on the season with their wins.

In single's action,
Lucio Menezes and
Marcos Rocca picked up MC's lone points. Rocca downed Mason Vice in three sets, 6-4, 5-7, 6-1, in the number three flight to improve to a team-best 8-1 in single's action on the season. Menezes knocked off Hugo Stroppiana in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the number two matchup to climb to 7-2 on the year in singles.

The Choctaws will return to action on Friday, March 9 when they take on #8 ranked NAIA-foe University of Mobile in Mobile, Ala. First serve is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
