CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team clinched the series over #17 Lindenwood University with a 7-1 win on Monday afternoon. The Choctaws moved to 2-1 on the season while LU falls to 1-2.

Leading 2-0 after the first, three frames, the Choctaws tacked on four runs in the bottom of the fourth to open the gates en route to the six-run win.

Inside the Box Score
- Four Choctaws posted multiple hits in the win led by Hunter Wilson's four-hit performance as he also drove in a pair of runs.
- Kyle Smith, Blaine Crim, and Ty Alderman each recorded a pair of hits on the day. Smith led the team with three RBI.
- Chris Crosby (1-0) picked up the win on the mound. Crosby tossed 6.1 innings and allowed the lone run on five hits with four strikeouts and three walks.
- Brandon Kennedy and Tommy Taborda each saw action out of the bullpen. Kennedy pitched 1.2 frames with a strikeout and hit. Taborda closed the door on the contest with the final inning on the hill and logged a pair of strikeouts.
- Nick Paulda led Lindenwood at the dish going 2-for-3.
- Justin Taylor (0-1) received the loss on the mound as he allowed six runs on 10 hits.

- MC jumped on the board early with a run in the second and third innings. Ty Alderman got the scoring started with a double to center field that scored Luke Yancey. Crim added the second run with a single that scored Grant Barber.
- A pair of two-RBI hits opened up the contest in the fourth inning. Smith's single to center drove in Dylan Duplechain and Alderman to extend the lead. Wilson added a double that plated Smith and Hunter Sykes.
- Lindenwood's lone run of the game came on a solo homerun from Jackson Fuller in the top of the fifth.
- The Choctaws closed out the scoring as it responded in the bottom of the fifth as Smith doubled down the left field line to score Duplechain.
