CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team fell 66-61 in overtime to the University of West Georgia on Saturday, Feb. 3. MC moved to 7-14 on the season and 3-12 in GSC action. West Georgia improved to 13-9 and 9-6 in the league.

Turning Point
Following a scuffle, West Georgia's Kayla Carter went to the free throw line and knocked three out of four shots to extend the Wolves lead to 62-57 with 2:30 left in the contest.

- A quartet of Lady Choctaws scored in double figures led by Kelley Allen with 14 points. The Puckett, Miss., native also recorded a team-best nine rebounds.
- Ieisha Lacey added 13 points while Lauran Sheriff supplied 12 points. Olivia Mabry rounded out the group with 11 points.
- West Georgia had four score in double-digits led by Carter with 21 points. A'Kia Harris added 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Aysha Harris poured in 14 points while De'Ashia Jones recoded 11 points.
- West Georgia shot 31 percent from the field, but went 27 for 36 from the free throw line (75 percent).
- MC connected on 34.9 of its shots from the floor in the game.

- MC held as much as an eight-point advantage after the first 10 minutes of play and held a 29-26 lead at the intermission.
- The Lady Choctaws trailed for less than minute the entire opening half of play as UWG took its only lead with early in the opening quarter, 3-2, on a 3-pointer from Jessica Brown.
- MC opened the third quarter with a 9-2 run to grab its largest lead of the game at 38-28 with 6:10 left to play in the period.
- West Georgia chipped away at the deficit and drew even at the end of the third quarter on a pair of Harris free throws to force a 43-all deadlock.
- West Georgia took the lead 10 seconds into the fourth quarter on a layup from Carter. It marked the first lead for the Wolves since the 9:20 mark of the first 10 minutes of play.
- The Wolves maintained the lead until the 2:20 mark.
- Carter knotted the contest at 54-all with 1:28 left in regulation.
- Harris gave West Georgia a 59-57 lead with a pair of free throws with 2:47 left in the game and Wolves never relinquished the lead the remainder of the way.
