CARROLLTON, Ga. --- The Mississippi College softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader at West Georgia on Saturday afternoon at University Softball Field.
The Lady Choctaws (5-7, 2-4 GSC) lost the first game in five innings by a score of 14-2, while the Wolves (10-5, 3-3 GSC) came back with a 4-3 win in the series finale.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Wolves wasted no time putting the game out of reach with seven runs in the first two innings.
- The Lady Choctaws would get their lone runs of the game in the second inning as junior
Brianna Caldwell hit one of her three home runs on the day, a two-run shot in the second inning.
- UWG would go on to score seven runs in the fourth inning to put the game away.

- Caldwell led the Lady Choctaw offense with two hits and two RBI on the home run.

- Lindsye Jefferson (1-1) tossed a complete game for UWG, allowing just four hits and two earned runs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Wolves got off to another fast start, putting up two unearned runs in the first inning to grab an early lead.
- Caldwell answered with a solo home run in the second inning to cut the lead in half.
- The junior hit her third home run of the day in the third inning to give the Lady Choctaws their first lead of the day at 3-2.
- UWG responded with a two-out RBI single in the third to tie the game and the score remained deadlocked until the sixth inning.
- Madison Chambers came up with two outs in the sixth and hit a solo home run that proved to be the game-winner.

- Danielle Easterly (1-1) came out of the bullpen to get the win for the Wolves, tossing four scoreless, hitless frames to close things out.

- The Lady Choctaws will play their first home games of the season on Tuesday afternoon when they host Miles College at 2:00 p.m. at the MC Softball Complex.
