  • Mississippi College and Southern Arkansas meet for the fifth time on Monday and the first time in series history since Dec. 30, 1996 in Magnolia, Ark. The two teams stand deadlocked with each team claiming two contests.
  • SAU enters riding a two-game win streak in the series after the Lady Choctaws claimed the first two meetings. The initial affair between the two schools was Jan. 20, 1996 – a 56-47, MC victory in Magnolia.
  • Mississippi College looks to draw even as it closes out the 2018 portion of the slate. The Lady Choctaws claimed a 13-point win over Christian Brothers University prior to the Christmas break. The victory gave MC its first GSC win of the season and snapped a four-game slide.

The 18 boards are tied for most in the GSC this season. The Brandon, Miss., native also tallied a season-high with three assists. Hobson's double-double was the first for a Lady Choctaw since Moriah Hurst had 13 points and 10 rebounds at Montevallo last season.

  • Senior Zan Ratcliffe dished out a season-high seven assists in the decision over the Lady Bucs while junior Kaitlyn Thompson became the second Lady Choctaw to record three blocks in a game this season – a career-high for the Cleveland, Miss., native.
  • The Navy and Gold grabbed a season-best 47 rebounds against CBU. The board total is the most since MC grabbed 47 on Dec. 30, 2017 against Tougaloo College. The Lady Choctaws recorded 48 in the season opener last season at Southern-New Orleans and pulled down 52 at Tougaloo on Dec. 5, 2017 – the season-high.
  • Mississippi College is undefeated against members of the Great American Conference this season. MC toppled the University of Arkansas at Monticello, 58-57, on Nov. 20.
  • Southern Arkansas enters the New Year's Eve contest riding a six-game, losing streak. SAU fell 52-51 to Williams Baptist on Dec. 19 before the pre-holiday break. The Blue and Gold's only win of the season came on Nov. 13 in a 40-point win over Southeastern Baptist.
