MAGNOLIA, Ark. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team shot just 22-of-64 (34.4%) from the floor in a 68-57 loss at Southern Arkansas on Tuesday night in the W.T. Watson Center.
The Choctaws fell to 2-2 on the season, while the Muleriders improved to 4-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game started slowly as the Choctaws scored the only two points of the first 4:45 on a jumper by junior
Brandon Boston.
- MC would go on to grab as much as a five-point lead at 9-4 as sophomore
Dyllan Taylor converted a three-point play with 13:32 to go in the first half.
- The Muleriders would use a 16-6 run to take a 23-15 lead with 7:31 remaining and would eventually take a 39-32 lead into the halftime break.
- The Choctaws would cut the lead down to as few as five in the second half, but they could not overcome their first sub-40% shooting night of the season in the loss.

KEY STATS
- The Choctaws also went just 6-of-22 (27%) from the three-point line and hit just seven of their 13 free throws.
- The Muleriders shot 25-of-60 (42%) from the field and went 8-of-23 (35%) from the three-point line.
- For the third time in four games this season, the Choctaws were outrebounded, losing the battle on the glass 45-28 at SAU.
- Taylor's 15 points and four assists led the Choctaw offensive attack. The Brandon native went 6-of-10 from the field.
- Boston (14) and senior
Marcus Lytle (10) were the other two Choctaws in double-figures on the evening, also leading MC with seven rebounds apiece.
- DeVante Brooks led the Muleriders with 14 points and 10 rebounds, whlie Aaron Lucas also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards.
