CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 17 as it hosts LeMoyne-Owen College. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. inside A.E. Wood Coliseum.

GAME NOTES
• Saturday's contest marks the fourth meeting between MC and LeMoyne-Owen College. The Lady Choctaws lead the series 3-0. The two squads have met the last three seasons. The initial meeting between the two teams was Feb. 4, 1993 in Clinton.
• The Lady Choctaws claimed a home-opening, 69-60 win over Lane College on Tuesday evening. MC had a trio of players score in double figures led by Emery Wilson's 13 points. Zariah Matthews added 11 points while Lauran Sheriff chimed in 10 points. Sheriff finished one rebound shy of recording her fourth, career double-double with a team-best nine rebounds.
• Jamilah Sanders posted a career-high six steals in the win over Lane and tied a career-best in blocks. Moriah Hurst reset her career-high in assists against the Dragons.
• The win over Lane College was sixth in the series history for the Navy and Gold. The lone hiccup in the series came on Nov. 19, 2016 with a 69-66 Dragons' win in Clinton.
• Three Lady Choctaws are averaging double figures in scoring this season led by Matthews with 12.5 points per game. Zan Ratcliffe ranks second on the team in scoring with 11.5 points per contest followed by Wilson with 11 points.
• The Lady Choctaws are making the most of their trips to the free throw line shooting 83.3 percent. MC shot 84.0 percent in the win over Lane College and connected 82.4 percent in the setback at Miles to open the season.
• For the second contest, MC held the advantage on the glass. The Lady Choctaws outrebounded Miles by seven and posted a plus-8 against Lane College. The Navy and Gold has 78 rebounds this season and has held its opponents to 63 on the season.
• Four Lady Choctaws have made their MC debuts this season. Kaleigh Wren joined the quartet on Tuesday evening with her first collegiate action against Lane College. Coco Hobson, Lindsey Vaughn and Kirstein Thompson made their first appearances in the Navy and Gold in the season opener at Miles College.
• LeMoyne-Owen enters Saturday looking for its first victory of the season after falling 76-73 at Christian Brothers on Thursday evening. LOC also has losses to Tampa and Florida Tech in the Sunshine State Conference-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Challenge.
Mississippi College is a private Christian university located in Clinton, Mississippi with an enrollment of over 5,000 students. MC recently finished their transition process back to NCAA Division II and the Gulf South Conference and will be competing for conference and national championships in the 2018-19 academic year.
 
The athletic department sponsors 17 intercollegiate athletic programs: Baseball, Men's and Women's Basketball, Men's and Women's Cross Country, Football, Golf, Men's and Women's Soccer, Softball, Men's and Women's Tennis, Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field, Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field and Volleyball.
