CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer team suffered their second loss of the season and their first Gulf South Conference loss of the season this Thursday afternoon against #2 ranked West Florida by a score of 1-0.

The Lady Choctaws will fall to 13-2-0 overall and 11-1 in GSC play.

The Argonauts will improve to 16-0-0 overall and 12-0 in GSC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams showed early why they are the top two teams in the GSC with hard fought competitive play throughout the match.
- The Argos were able to strike late in the first half in the 36^th minute on a corner kick play when Deneisha Blackwood's cross found Jessica Quixley who put it in the net to give the Argos a 1-0 lead.
- The Lady Choctaw's efforts to tie the match fell short in the second half and the Argonauts would hold on the claim the 1-0 victory.

KEY STATS
- Both teams were very evenly matched in the contest with both teams firing off 14 shots a piece.
- The difference making stat in the contest were corner kicks, The Argos took five in the match with one leading to the team's goal, while MC only took two corner kicks in the whole contest.
-  Andrea McDonald was called into action in goal just before the opening kickoff due to a hand injury to Gabby Kayser and McDonald had a stellar performance recording eight saves in the match.

- The Lady Choctaws will play their regular season finale at Robert P. Longabaugh Field on Saturday Oct. 27^th against Spring Hill at 1 P.M. and before Saturday's match against Spring Hill, the Lady Choctaws will be honoring eight seniors with "Senior Day" festivities. Those eight seniors will be: Andrea McDonald, Samantha Carson, Peace Gill, Gaylynn Cooper, Lauren Dodge, Julie Reid, Cara Benedict and Lauren Smith.
