CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Mississippi College volleyball team fell in four sets at Lee University on Friday, Oct. 12. The Choctaws move to 7-16 on the season and 1-10 in Gulf South Conference action while the Lady Flames improved to 10-11 and 8-2 in the league.
Mississippi College opened up the match with a 25-17 win in the first set. Lee rallied to take the next three sets en route to the win. (25-17, 25-21 and 25-15).
Freshmen
Lexie Laurendine and
Rylee Markham each provided double-doubles in the match while redshirt junior
Shelby Grace Mays moved into the top 10 in career kills. Laurendine led the team with 13 kills while Markham dished out a team-best 17 assists.
Jill Brown finished with a team-best 20 digs while
Kendall Platt had 19.
Autumn Frost with a team-best four blocks.

TURNING POINT
MC held a 13-11 in the third set, but Lee took control of the set with a 9-0 run to take a 20-13 lead. MC rallied to cut the deficit to three points on two different occasions, but couldn't overcome the Lady Flames push midway through the set.
