CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team could not overcome a hot-shooting night from Delta State in a 76-64 loss on Saturday afternoon in A.E. Wood Coliseum.
The Statesmen (9-12, 7-6 GSC) shot 53% (30-of-57) from the field, while the Choctaws (9-9, 6-7 GSC) only shot 39% (21-of-54) from the floor.

TURNING POINT
- After the Choctaws fell behind 44-32 with 17:45 remaining in the game, MC would go on a 12-2 run and cut the lead to just 46-44 with 14:16 to go. The Statesmen answered with an 8-0 run and the Choctaws could not get closer than seven the rest of the way.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Choctaws scored the opening bucket of the game on a layup by junior
Donovan Ham with 18:28 remaining in the first half.
- The Statesmen answered with the next eight points and did not trail the rest of the way.
- DSU hit a pair of free throws in the final seconds of the opening period and took a 41-32 lead into the break.
- The Statesmen would push the lead out to 12 in the opening minutes, only to let the Choctaws get back into the game as a three-point play by freshman
Dyllan Taylor made the score 46-44 with 14:16 remaining.
- DSU would hold off the charge, and the Choctaws had their two-game winning streak snapped.

- Sophomore
Brandon Boston scored a team-high 25 points, tallying a double-double with a career-high 13 rebounds.
- He was the only Choctaw to score in double-figures as senior
Antonio Johnson scored nine and senior
Otis Harvey had eight.
- The Choctaws were 18-of-25 (72%) from the free throw line but went just 4-of-18 from the three-point line.
- Brett Warner led all scorers with 28 for Delta State, going 11-of-19 from the field and 3-of-5 from the three-point line.
- PJ Davis scored 14 with a team-high six rebounds, while Armon Benford added 10.
