CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 19 as it hosts Auburn Montgomery. First whistle is set for 6 p.m.
FIRST SERVES
• Mississippi College opens Gulf South Conference play on Tuesday evening against Auburn Montgomery. The contest is the first of two inside conference play this week at A.E. Wood Coliseum as MC hosts West Alabama on Saturday.
• Tuesday is the first meeting between Mississippi College and AUM.
• The Lady Choctaws posted a 4-1 record last week, including a 3-1 mark at the Dr. Margaret Downing Invitational hosted by Southern Arkansas. MC posted wins over Grambling State, Arkansas-Monticello and Texas A&M International before falling to the host Lady Muleriders.
• Senior
Kayana Mitchell was named to the Dr. Margaret Downing Invitational All-Tournament Team. Mitchell posted 36 kills during the weekend and recorded 20 total blocks. The team was selected by the head coaches.

Shelby Grace Mays totaled 54 kills during the five-match week to lead the team and was ranked second in digs (60) and total blocks (11). The Arab, Ala., native also posted four double-doubles during the week.
• Mays leads the team this season with 115 kills and 116 digs while
Sydney Chandler and
Amanda Torres are directing the offense. Chandler leads the setter duo with 201 assists while Torres has 155. Mitchell has garnered 40 total blocks.

Sydney Chandler moved up the career assists leaderboard this weekend. The Silverhill, Ala., product sits third in assists with 1,444. Kristine Bebe ranks second on the list with 1,598 while Lauryn Hamrick leads the category with 1,616.
• Mitchell moved to a tie for sixth in solo blocks with Jessica Torick with 50. Mitchell sits four solos back from cracking the top five in program history and 15 from reaching the top three.
• Auburn Montgomery comes into the match 6-4 on the season after going 1-2 this weekend at the North Alabama Volleyball Classic. The Orange and Black took a straight set win over Dillard University, but fell in non-conference action to UNA and Union in straight sets.
• Skylar Coppinger leads AUM with 91 kills on the season while Carly Smart has dished out a team-best 242 assists. The Warhawks are led defensively by Haley Toler's 131 digs and Brianna Garvin's 24 blocks.
