MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College softball team outscored Christian Brothers 20-1 on their way to a doubleheader sweep on Saturday afternoon at Bland Field.

GAME ONE: Mississippi College 12, Christian Brothers 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Choctaws (16-11, 8-6 GSC) opened the twin-bill with a five-run first inning as senior
Haley Thompson led off with a double and scored on a single by junior
Katherine Lee.
- Freshman
Carly Crawford and senior
Megan Everett each chased home two runs with a single to give MC a 5-0 lead just three outs into the day.
- After adding a run in the fourth, MC would push across two more in the sixth as sophomore
Kristen Qualls and Crawford each drove in runs.
- The Lady Bucs (4-23, 0-14 GSC) scored their lone run in the bottom of the sixth as Julia Schassburger singled home Kylie Steagall.
- MC would pour on four more runs in the seventh inning to give the game its final score as senior
Tylan Buckley drove in a run with a groundout to start things off.
- After an RBI single by Qualls, sophomore
Makenzie Nieto and Crawford each doubled home runs to make the score 12-1.
KEY STATS
- Lee led the Lady Choctaw offense by going 4-for-5 with four runs score and one RBI. She became the first MC player to score four in a contest since Lee did so herself in the NCCAA Regional against Alice Lloyd last season.
- Qualls and Crawford joined Lee with multi-hit days, while Crawford had a game-high four RBI. Qualls and Everett also drove in multiple runs for MC.
- Sophomore
Penny Nichols (8-5) tossed 5.0 shutout innings, striking out three while giving up four hits.
- Junior
Kristen Gardner finished up the final 2.0 innings, giving up just two hits and a run.

GAME TWO: Mississippi College 8, Christian Brothers 0 (5 Innings)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Choctaws got off to another fast start in the second game as Qualls hit her sixth home run of the season, a two-run shot with two outs to grab a 2-0 lead.
- Sophomore
Alexia Harmon would single home another run, while Everett doubled home two to give the Lady Choctaws a 5-0 lead early on.
- Senior
Tylan Buckley teed off in the second inning, hitting her third long ball of the season to give MC a 7-0 advantage.
- The final run of the game came in the fifth inning as junior
Heath Griffith singled home Harmon to give the game its final score of 8-0.
KEY STATS
- Sophomore
Adrianna Morgan started in the circle for the Lady Choctaws, giving up just one hit and one walk with two strikeouts over 2.0 innings.
- Freshman
Marley Peagler (4-1) tossed the final 3.0 innings, scattering two hits and one walk.
- Harmon and Everett led the offensive attack with three hits apiece, while Lee and Harmon each scored two runs.
- Buckley, Qualls and Everett each drove in two runs for MC, while four different players stole a base.
