MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College softball team wrapped up a three-game sweep of Christian Brothers University with an 11-0 win on Sunday afternoon at Bland Field.
The Lady Choctaws (17-11, 9-6 GSC) outscored the Lady Bucs (4-24, 0-15 GSC) by a count of 31-1 in the three contests on the weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Senior
Tylan Buckley was the offensive star for MC and gave the Lady Choctaws all the runs they would need with a two-run home run in the first inning.
- Her fifth long ball of the season scored senior
Haley Thompson, who led off the game with a single and stole second base, her 30th swipe of the season.
- Buckley would add two more RBI in the second inning, giving the Lady Choctaws a 4-0 lead with a double to score senior
Lauren Mulligan and Thompson.
- Mulligan would drive in two runs of her own in the third inning with a two-out single to score freshman
Carly Crawford and sophomore
Alexia Harmon.
- MC pushed the lead to 7-0 in the fourth inning as sophomore
Kristen Qualls drove in sophomore
Katherine Lee with a sacrifice fly.
- The Lady Choctaws closed the game out in five innings with four runs in the fifth, starting with an RBI single from Thompson that scored Harmon.
- Buckley drove in her fifth run of the day with a sacrifice fly, while Qualls singled home two more runs to give the game its final score.

KEY STATS
- Sophomore
Penny Nichols (9-6) collected her first shutout of the season, giving up just three hits and one walk over 5.0 innings.
- The MC defense was on full display on Sunday getting all 15 outs as the Lady Bucs did not strike out once.
- Buckley led the MC offense with three hits and five RBI, finishing just a triple shy of the cycle.
- Thompson, Crawford, Harmon and Mulligan each had two hits on the day, while Thompson scored a team-high three runs.
- Harmon and Mulligan also scored two runs, while Qualls (3) and Mulligan (2) joined Buckley with multiple RBI.
- Thompson's 30th stolen base of the season makes her the fifth player in school history to have at least 30 in a single season.

- The Lady Choctaws are now 11-1 all-time against CBU, winning six straight with two consecutive sweeps in the series.

Megan Everett ranks 2nd in school history in games played (182) and at-bats (559), sitting just one shy of the record in each category.

Brooke O'Hair is just five wins away from 300 after MC's seventh straight victory on Sunday.

- The Lady Choctaws will head to Hattiesburg on Wednesday for a doubleheader at William Carey. They will then return home next weekend for a three-game series against West Georgia.
