- The Lady Choctaws saw their offense break out in the series win over Union, combining to score 28 runs, including a season-high 13 in the series-clincher. MC came into the series with 27 extra-base hits in 20 games, but the bats got going with 13 extra-base knocks, including six home runs. In the three games, MC posted a .633 slugging percentage and .344 batting average.
- The Lady Choctaws have been off and running in the 2017 season, leading the Gulf South Conference and ranking 10th nationally with 67 stolen bases through 23 games. In MC's 13-8 win over Union, MC stole a season-high nine bases, including senior Haley Thompson and Katherine Lee swiping two apiece. Thompson (26) already has the 6th-highest single-season tally in school history.
- Freshman Carly Crawford homered in all three games of a road series at Union University and was named the league's Freshman of the Week for her efforts. The Hattiesburg native hit .455 with a three home runs and five RBI over the three games. In MC's two wins, she hit two-run home runs against the Bulldogs.
- The Lady Choctaws bounced back from an ugly 16-6 loss to win the road series at Union with a couple victories on Sunday and Monday. Crawford hit the first three home runs of her career and was named the GSC Freshman of the Week for her efforts. Trailing 7-6 in the sixth inning, sophomore Makenzie Nieto sent a two-out pitch over the center field wall for a grand slam that helped clinch the series.
- On Monday, March 13th, the Lady Choctaws secured the 700th victory in program history with a 13-8 win over Union. The first win for MC came on March 22, 1986 with a 6-2 win over Tennessee-Martin. On Friday, February 10th, the Lady Choctaws played at Montevallo, which was the 1,200th game in Mississippi College softball history. The first game on record was on March 14, 1986 when MC played Troy State in Columbus, MS (L, 13-14).
- Brooke O'Hair is in her 11th season as MC's head softball coach, already sitting atop the list of most wins in school history. Of the six 30-win seasons in school history, the former Mississippi State second baseman has achieved the feat five times. Following the school-record 39 wins in 2016 and the nine this season, O'Hair is just 10 victories away from 300 for her career. She was named the NCCAA National Coach of the Year after leading the Lady Choctaws to a national championship last season.

Jessica Crum (.475) is the team's leading hitter with four home runs, six doubles and 20 RBI. Taylor Hughes (.442) has scored a team-high 17 runs, while Vanessa Sanders (.385) is tied for the team-lead with six doubles.
