CLINTON, Miss. — The Mississippi College softball program placed four players on the 2026 All-Gulf South Conference teams, the league office announced ahead of the GSC Softball Championship Tournament.

Blakely Gill and Shelby Samples earned First Team All-GSC honors, while Ellie Fryar and Morgan Lavergne were named to the Second Team All-GSC squad.

Gill, a catcher, and Samples, an outfielder, also collected additional postseason recognition after being named to the 2026 GSC Gold Glove Team.

The postseason honors come as Mississippi College prepares to open conference tournament play Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. against Montevallo in Oxford, Alabama.

Gill put together one of the top seasons in the conference behind the plate, earning first-team recognition while also being honored for her defensive performance with a Gold Glove selection at catcher.

Samples received first-team honors in the outfield after a standout season at the plate and in the field. The Choctaw outfielder also secured Gold Glove recognition following an impressive defensive campaign.

Fryar earned second-team honors at shortstop after serving as a key piece of Mississippi College's infield throughout the regular season, while Lavergne was selected to the second team as an infielder following a strong all-around season.

Mississippi College enters the GSC Tournament looking to make a postseason run against a Montevallo team that featured multiple all-conference honorees, including first-team outfielder Taylor Rogers and second-team third baseman Becca Benton.

Wednesday's opening-round matchup begins at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Alabama.
