THE SERIES
Mississippi College and West Florida meet for the eighth time in series history on Saturday. The Argos hold 4-3 advantage having claimed the last four contests, including a 69-65 victory in Pensacola, Fla., earlier this season. MC's last win in the series came on Dec. 18, 2014 in Clinton (56-55).
MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE NOTES
Mississippi College looks to rebound from its lowest point total of the season (43) on Thursday night in a setback to Valdosta State.
Kelley Allen led the Lady Choctaws in scoring with 13 points while
Ashley Minor grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds.
Allen and
Olivia Mabry have started all 18 contests this season and rank first and fourth in scoring on the team. Allen is averaging 14.4 points per game while Mabry has tallied 7.9 points per contest. Minor has started 17 games and ranks second on the team in scoring with 13.5 per game.
WEST FLORIDA NOTES
West Florida picked up a 53-52 win at Delta State on Thursday. UWF has won seven of its last eight contests with the only setback coming at West Georgia last Saturday.
Toni Brewer led the Argos with 13 points at DSU while Katie Bobos and Courtney Meyer each added 11 points. Brewer and Bobos rank as the only two players in the GSC averaging a double-double. Brewer is averaging 14.4 points and 11.8 rebounds per game while Bobos is averaging 12.1 points and 10.4 boards.
