MONTEVALLO, Ala. --- The Mississippi College softball team closed out the "Falcon Frenzy" with 2-1 extra innings loss to Truman State University on Sunday afternoon at the Montevallo Softball Stadium at Orr Park.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the low-scoring contest, the Bulldogs (1-3) grabbed an early lead on a sacrifice fly by Lex Van Nostrand to score Christa Reisinger in the first inning.
- The lead remained for TSU until the fourth inning when the Lady Choctaws (5-4) tied things up on a squeeze bunt by sophomore

- With the score still tied 1-1 after seven innings, the Lady Choctaws would load the bases in the eighth but came up empty.
- Truman State got a walk-off double from Ashley Murphy to score Michaela Mooney in the bottom of the eighth to win 2-1.
KEY STATS
- The pitcher's duel featured sophomore
Adrianna Morgan (1-1), who gave up just five hits and two unearned runs over 7.1 innings.
- Lauren Dale (1-0) grabbed the victory for TSU, pitching around five walks with three hits in the 8.0 inning effort.
- Senior
Megan Everett and Buckley each drew two walks for MC, while senior
Haley Thompson had two stolen bases.
NEXT UP
- The Lady Choctaws will be back on the road Wednesday when they face Spring Hill in a doubleheader at 12:00 p.m. in Mobile.
