Katherine Lee singled home senior
Haley Thompson with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to finish off a doubleheader sweep of Miles College on Saturday night at Stephens Park.
The Lady Choctaws (5-3) opened the twin-bill with an 8-2 win before coming from behind to get a 5-4 victory in the night cap. The two contests closed out a long day that saw MC go 2-1 at the "Falcon Frenzy" after a 6-2 loss to #16 Indianapolis earlier Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bears got on the board in the first inning thanks to an MC error and took the 1-0 lead into the second inning.
- Junior
Shelby Miller got the scoring going for the Lady Choctaws in the second with an RBI single to score sophomore
Makenzie Nieto and tie the game at 1-1.
- MC took the lead for good in the third inning on a sacrifice fly by senior
Megan Everett to score Thompson.
- Senior
Tylan Buckley extended the lead with a rocket to center field that scored Lee on a double to make the score 3-1.
- MC put up three runs in the fifth inning, highlighted by a two-run double from freshman
Carly Crawford to score Buckley and sophomore
Alexia Harmon.
- Buckley added a two-run single in the sixth to make the score 8-1 as Thompson and senior
Lauren Mulligan came in to score.
KEY STATS
- The Lady Choctaws had a season-high 13 hits, led by five players with two hits apiece.
- Buckley drove in a team-high three runs, while Crawford had two RBI.
- Seven different players touched home for MC, as Thompson led the way with two runs scored.

Kristen Gardner (1-1) earned her first win for the Lady Choctaws, striking out eight and giving up just one earned run over the complete game effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Miles jumped out to another early lead as Kathryne Lambert hit a two-run home run to center field, grabbing a 2-0 lead headed to the bottom of the first.
- Everett cut the lead in half with an RBI single that scored Thompson.
- The Bears added runs in the second and third innings to jump out to a 4-1 lead, including a solo home run by Lambert in the third.
- After three straight scoreless innings, Mulligan got the Lady Choctaws within two in the fifth with her second solo home run of the day.
- Trailing by two in the sixth, Crawford came up with a big two-out, two-run double to score Everett and Buckley to tie the game 4-4.
- After sophomore
Penny Nichols (1-1), who came out of the bullpen and held Miles scoreless over the final 4.0 innings, shut the Bears down in the seventh, it set up the heroics in the seventh.
- Following two quick outs for MC, Thompson singled on the infield and stole second base, setting up the two-out single up the middle by Lee to score the game-winning run.
KEY STATS
- Thompson led the Lady Choctaws with two hits and two runs scored, giving her three hits and four runs scored over the doubleheader.
- Crawford had the team-high two RBI, while Buckley drew two walks.
- Nichols gave up just one hits and struck out two over 4.2 innings to get her first victory of the season, and 17th of her career.

- The Lady Choctaws will wrap up the "Falcon Frenzy" on Sunday morning when they face Truman State at 11:15 a.m. at Orr Park.
