HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Lady Choctaws (3-3) struck back in their half of the first as senior Haley Thompson singled, stole second and came home to score on a passed ball.
- After the home run by Podschweit in the fourth, the Greyhounds extended the lead to 6-1 with a three-run fifth inning, highlighted by another solo home run from Turner.
- Senior Lauren Mulligan hit her first career home run in the bottom of the fifth, cutting the score to 6-2.
- The Lady Choctaws would threaten again in the sixth inning as the tying run was on deck with runners on first and second and just one out. Freshman Carly Crawford sent a lined shot up the middle that was snagged by the pitcher, and her throw to first base was in time for a big double play.
