CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team concludes the 2017 campaign this week as the Lady Choctaws host Union University on Thursday, Nov. 9. MC closes out the season on Saturday, Nov. 11 at the University of North Alabama. Both matches are scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Lady Choctaws seek their first wins against Union and North Alabama. MC is 0-7 all-time against the Bulldogs and 2-8 in the series with the Lions.

Kayana Mitchell has the check to move into the top three in career kills. The Southaven, Miss., native is eight shy of tying Courtney Nordyke for third. Mitchell currently has 664 career kills during her four seasons in Clinton. The senior also has the chance to move into the top five in career solo blocks as she sits two shy of Nordyke with 52. Mitchell is already second in block assists (234) and total blocks (286).

Madison Kimes has a chance to grab second in career digs. The St. Louis, Mo., product has 945 career digs and is 20 from moving into a second place tie with Amanda Greene. Head coach

The Lady Choctaws are led offensively this season by seniors Mitchell and
Krista Zieschang. Mitchell leads the team with 179 kills while Zieschang has totaled 177.
Sydney Chandler and
Amanda Torres have combined for 894 assists this season. Chandler leads the duo with 495 assists while Torres has 399 in her first season with the team.

Jill Brown and Mitchell lead the defensive charge. Brown has a team-best 263 digs this season while Mitchell has 70 blocks.

Autumn Frost, Mitchell and Torres have led the Navy and Gold at the net in GSC action. Frost has totaled 16 blocks against the league while Mitchell has 15 and Torres has garnered 13 rejections. Kimes has 110 digs against the conference.

Union walks into Thursday's contest with a 14-16 record and 4-11 in the GSC after it claimed a 3-1 victory over Christian Brothers on Tuesday. The win snapped a two-game slide for the Bulldogs.

Katie O'Malley leads Union with 305 kills on the campaign while Bre Carlton has a 958 assists, which ranks four in the GSC in assists per set with 8.48. Taylor Chiaro has 392 digs this season while Ceciley Blanchard and Christa Karns stand as the top two leaders at the net. Blanchard has 80 blocks this season while Karns is second on the team with 79.

North Alabama stands second in the GSC standings 25-6 and 13-2 in the conference and is riding a seven-game, win streak after it grabbed a 3-1 win at Alabama-Huntsville on Tuesday.

Lexie Bradley, the reigning GSC Offensive Player of the Week, and Jessica Austin lead the GSC in kills. Bradley has 520 kills on the season while Austin has recorded 426. Austin also leads the team in blocks with 85. Jayden Davila-McClary has dished out a GSC-best 1,294 assists on the campaign. Ashtyn Kapovich has a team-leading 560 digs.
