FLORENCE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 Gulf South Conference road match to North Alabama on Monday, Oct. 9. With the loss, the Lady Choctaw's record now sits at 9-2-1 overall, and 8-2 in GSC play.

TURNING POINT
- After tying up the match early in the second half, Shelby Wall gave UNA a 2-1 lead in the 67
th minute with what would become the eventual game-winner.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Choctaws drew first blood in the contest, when freshman midfielder
Emily McNair netted her second goal of the season in the 23
rd minute of the match to give MC the 1-0 lead. Junior forward
Lauren Smith helped set up the score.
- The lions would tie the match up in the 53
rd minute of the match, when Kylie Huey knocked in a goal that was played off of a Mary Margaret Borden free kick.
- After taking the lead off of Wall's goal, Huey would go on to net her second goal of the afternoon in the 82nd minute, with help from Wall. The goal would give way to the final score of 3-1.

- The Lady Choctaws outshot the lions 14-8 in the match, with seven of the Lady Choctaw's shots coming on frame.
- MC took five shots in the first half, and nine in the second.
- Smith's assist on McNair's goal in the first half accounted for her fourth of the season, a mark that leads all Lady Choctaws.
- Sophomore
Emma Claire Furman tallied a season-high five shots in the contest, with an additional season-best three shots on goal.
- In goal, junior
Andrea McDonald recorded two saves on the day, while seeing her record fall to 7-2-1 on the season.
- Both teams took a pair of corner kicks in the match.
- MC was tagged for eight fouls, while UNA drew seven.
- The Lady Choctaws were on the receiving end of all three yellow cards that were passed out on the day.

- The loss for MC snaps a season-high five-match winning streak, dating back to Sept. 22.
- Monday's match marked for the first time all season that the MC defense allowed more than one goal.

- The Lady Choctaws will have six days to prepare for their next contest, when they travel to Mobile, Ala. to take on Spring Hill College on Sunday, Oct. 15. Match time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
