CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team returns to action this weekend as the Lady Choctaws (7-9, 1-4 Gulf South Conference)
host the University of West Georgia and the University of Montevallo. MC opens the weekend slate against UWG on Friday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. and hosts UM on Saturday, Oct. 7. First whistle against the Falcons is set for 1 p.m.
FIRST SERVES
• Saturday marks the Second Annual Crohn's Awareness Match. Last season, MC raised over $1,600 to assist in Crohn's research. Tupelo, Miss., redshirt freshman
Kaitlyn Wilson is battling the disease after being diagnosed last season.
• MC is 5-3 against West Georgia all-time, including the last four outings. The Navy and Gold claimed a 3-2 win in the last meeting between the two programs in Carrollton, Ga. The match against Montevallo is the first between the two programs as the Purple and Gold return to the GSC this season.

Kayana Mitchell leads the Lady Choctaws offensively this season. The Southaven, Miss., native has recorded 131 kills this season and stands sixth in program history with 616. The senior is 10 kills from cracking the top five.
• Mitchell also leads the squad in blocks with 51 total blocks. She ranks second in the program with 217 blocks assists and 267 total blocks. She sits sixth in block solos with 50 and is four shy of jumping into the top five.

Sydney Chandler and
Amanda Torres direct the Lady Choctaws offensive. Chandler has 289 assists this season and ranks third in program history with 1,532. Torres sits second on the team with 203 assists.

Madison Kimes has 136 digs this season and 876 in her four-year career, which ranks third in the program.
• West Georgia sits 1-12 on the season and 0-5 in the GSC. UWG is riding a nine-game, losing streak as it enters Friday. The Wolves lone win of the season came on Saturday, Sept. 2 as it defeated Kentucky Wesleyan 3-0 in St. Petersburg, Fla.
• Anjelina Webb leads the Red and Blue with 143 kills and 121 digs while Madi Fleming has 231 assists this season. Niah Bruce has a team-best 28 total blocks.
• Montevallo is 7-6 on the campaign and 3-3 in conference play. The Falcons have won three of their last four, including two straight with GSC wins over Christian Brothers and Union.
• A trio of Falcons have recorded 100-plus kills this season led by Kristy Bohan's 116. Amanda Nugent has 109 while Brie Blume has totaled 104. Harley Masoner leads the team with 290 assists. On the defensive side, Michaela Henderson has 155 digs and Bohan has 38 total blocks.
