CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team will begin postseason play on Tuesday, Oct. 31 when they welcome West Florida to Clinton, Miss. for round one of the Gulf South Conference Postseason Tournament.

MC NOTES
- The Choctaws (10-2-3, 7-2-2 GSC) finished the regular season ranked third in the GSC standings. MC capped off their regular season on Saturday, Oct. 21 when they bested Auburn Montgomery 6-0 in Clinton.
- MC was reciving votes in the latest national rankings, while being ranked number five in the South Regional Rankings.
- MC saw five players named to the Gulf South Conference All-Conference Teams on Monday afternoon.
Humberto Pelaez and
Jacob Farthing garnered first-team honors, while
Victor Bazan,
Horacio Gutierrez Jr. and
Elliot Rimmer were named to the second team.

ON OFFENSE
- MC will look to keeps things going on the offensive side of the ball, after scoring a season-best six goals in their victory over AUM their last time out.
- The Choctaws finished up the regular season leading the GSC in shots taken (284), shots per game (18.93), shots on goal (124) and shots on goal per game (8.27).
- MC has netted 31 goals in 15 games, for an average of 2.07 per match that ranks for fourth in the conference.
- Farthing currently paces the Choctaws in total points (16) and assists (6), while tying for the team lead with five goals. Gutierrez and Bazan have also netted five goals for the Choctaws and registered three assists, with Sophomore
Connor Johnson having also recorded three assists on the year.

ON DEFENSE
- The MC defense has allowed just 14 goals through 15 contests, for an average of 0.93 goals allotted per match. Both are numbers that ranked for second in the conference. MC has allowed their opponents to take just 9.7 shots per match.
- The Choctaws ended the season on a three-match stretch that saw them allow just three goals over two contests, for an average of 0.67 per contest.
- In Goal, Pelaez (10-2-3), brings a goal's against average of 0.88 into Tuesday's matchup, which ranks for third in the GSC. The senior keeper boasts a .808 save percentage and has pitched five shutouts on the year for the Choctaws.

WEST FLORIDA NOTES
- The Argos (7-7-1, 5-5-1 GSC) finished off the 2017 regular season with just enough conference points accumulated to lock down the sixth and final spot in the GSC Postseason Tournament.
- In their most recent action, West Florida fell 2-1 to Montevallo University on October 28 in their regular-season finale.
- Junior midfielder Kameron Bethel served as the Agro's lone member of the 2017 All-GSC teams, garnering second-team honors. Â
- The Argo attack is currently averaging 1.60 goals per match on the season, having scored 24 goals in 15 games.
- Sergio Otalora leads the Argo offense with four goals scored on the season. Barrett Mills' three assists on the season marks for a team high.
- On defense, West Florida is averaging 1.13 goals allowed per contest, having given up 17 goals in 15 contests.
- In goal, Jacob Murray brings a goal's against average of 1.08 into Tuesday's matchup, with a record of 7-7-1 on the season and a save percentage of 77 percent. Murray has tallied three shutouts in goal for the Argos on the year.

- MC brings an all-time record of 3-1 against West Florida into their matchup on Tuesday. In their most recent meeting on Sept. 22 of this year, the Choctaws bested West Florida 2-0 in Pensacola, Fla.
