CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team returns to Gulf South Conference action this weekend as the Lady Choctaws (10-16, 2-8 GSC) host the University of North Alabama and the University of Alabama in Huntsville. The weekend slate opens on Friday, Oct. 27 against UNA at 6 p.m. The match on Saturday, Oct. 28 against UAH is marked for 2 p.m.

The Lady Choctaws seek to end a four match slide as they enter the weekend, including three straight setbacks in the GSC.

MC looks for its first win over UNA since 1994. The Navy and Gold have fallen in the last seven outings against the Lions. MC snapped a seven game skid against UAH last season with a 3-1 win in Clinton on Senior Day.

A quartet of Lady Choctaws matched or set highs at Valdosta State. Girdnt set a career-high in assists in the match. Smith set a season-high in digs against the Lady Blazers along with
Hannah Rue. Rue also tied a season-high with eight kills against the Red and Black.
Autumn Frost matched her season-high in digs.

The trio of Frazier,
Amanda Torres and
Gracie Liljenquist have paced the Lady Choctaws in the last five matches. Frazier has led the group with 28 kills during the stretch while Torres has registered 27 followed by 26 from Liljenquist. Torres also sits just four assists back of the top spot on the team during the five matches with 67. Chandler leads the team with 71. Defensively during the stretch, Frost has led the efforts at the net with seven total blocks during the past five matches.
Kayana Mitchell, Torres and Liljenquist have six each during the run.

A pair of Choctaws are listed among the leaders in the conference. Mitchell sits eighth in blocks per set with 0.86 through 81 sets while
Jill Brown ranks seventh in digs per set with 3.81. The Elkhart, Ind., native is tied with Logan Kael of West Florida.

North Alabama enters the weekend with a 20-6 record and 8-2 in the GSC after claiming a weekend sweep against Union and Christian Brothers. Lexie Bradley and Jessica Austin pace the Purple and Gold offensively. Bradley has 406 kills this season while Austin has 352. Jayden Davila-McClary directs the Lions' offense with 1,067 assists. Austin also leads the effort at the net with 67 total blocks.

UAH is riding a four-match win streak as it heads into the weekend with wins over Lynn, West Georgia, Christian Brothers and Union. The Lady Chargers are 19-9 on the season and 7-3 in the GSC. Anna Claire Johnson leads UAH with 200 kills while Kirsten Giles has a team-best 602 assists. Haley Hop defends the backline with 430 digs as Caroline Sanford directs the efforts at the net with 84 total blocks.
