CLINTON, Miss. --- A two-goal second half propelled the Mississippi College women's soccer team past the Falcons of the University of Montevallo 2-1 on Friday afternoon. With the win, the Lady Choctaws improve to 11-2-1 overall, and 10-2 in Gulf South Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Defense prevailed early for both teams, as neither team was able to crack the scoreboard in the first period.
- Montevallo broke the scoreless tie in the 48
th minute of the match, when Taylor Gonzales lifted a lob shot from inside of the box that went just over the fingertips of MC keeper
Andrea McDonald.
- MC would notch the equalizer in the 74
th minute, when
Lauren Smith knocked in her team-leading sixth goal of the season. Wise helped set up the goal.
- Wise's game-winnner with three minutes left to play would go on to seal the deal for MC. The goal served as her first score of the year.

- Wise led the way offensively for MC, recording both a goal and an assist in the match.
- MC outshot Montevallo 20-7 in the match, with seven of those 20 shots coming on frame. MC took six shots in the first half, and 14 in the second.
