CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 17 as it hosts Christian Brothers University in Gulf South Conference action. First whistle is slated for 6 p.m. in A.E. Wood Coliseum.
NOTES
•   The meeting with the Lady Bucs is the first of the season. MC looks to snap a six-game skid against the Red and Black. The Lady Choctaws won the first four matches in the series with the last win against CBU coming on Sept. 17, 1994.

•   Mississippi College comes into the week after going 2-3 last week with a pair of neutral site wins against Tougaloo and Nova Southeastern. The victory over Nova was the first in program history and the second, fifth set win this season for the Lady Choctaws.

Sydney Chandler became the program leader in assists over the weekend. The Silverhill, Ala., native logged 17 assists in the contest with Flagler College to surpass Lauryn Hamrick for the top spot. The senior stands atop the list with 1,664 assists.

Amanda Torres became the first Lady Choctaw in program history to record a triple-double in the win over Nova Southeastern. The San Juan, Puerto Rico, product poured in a season-best 10 kills, a team-best 23 assists and 10 digs in the effort.

Kayana Mitchell broke into the top five in career kills over the weekend. The Southaven, Miss., native stands fourth in the history of the program with 664 kills and is eight away from placing herself into the top three in category.

•   Mitchell is also two blocks assists away from being the program record holder. The senior has 234 assisted blocks in her four-year career and sits behind program record holder Katie Rowland.

Jill Brown recorded a season-high 29 digs in the win over Nova Southeastern. The total ranks among the game-high leaders in the GSC this season.

•   Mitchell and Brown rank among the leaders in the GSC. Mitchell is fifth in solo blocks (10), third in block assists (60), and fifth in total blocks (70) this season. She also ranks fifth in blocks per set (0.86). Brown has totaled 3.91 digs per set, which ranks eighth in the conference.

•   Mississippi College ranks second in the GSC in service aces. The Navy and Gold average 1.76 aces per set, which is tied with Lee University and ranks just behind Montevallo with 1.92 aces per set.

•   Christian Brothers rides a two-game, losing streak into the midweek match with losses to Rollins College (3-0) and Eckerd College (3-1) at the GSC-SSC South Region Crossover. The Lady Bucs opened the Crossover with a 3-1 victory over Lynn University.

•   Emma Lenoir paces the Red and Black offensively with a team-best 349 kills on the season while Alexa Henderson directs the offense with 682 assists. Blythe Clausen and Mary Kathryn Miller guide the CBU defense. Clausen leads the team with 399 digs while Miller's 75 total blocks are tops on the team.

•   Lenior ranks third in the conference with 3.75 kills per set while Henderson is third in assists per set with 8.97. The duo also rank in the top 10 in service aces. Lenior averages 0.40 aces per set while Henderson averages 0.38.
