JACKSON, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team dropped a 92-69 decision on Monday evening at Union University. MC moves to 3-5 on the season and 1-4 in the Gulf South Conference. UU improved to 8-4 and 3-3 in the conference.

The Lady Choctaws placed three players in double figures led by Ieshia Lacey's season-best 14 points while
Ashley Minor and
Kelley Allen each tallied 11 points in the setback. Allen also added a team-best six rebounds.

Jada Perkins led the Lady Bulldogs with 24 points.

Union out-rebounded MC by 12 boards as it grabbed 37 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Union outscored the Navy and Gold by double-digits in the second and fourth quarters. UU outscored the Lady Choctaws by 12 points in the second quarter to take a 40-30 lead at the intermission. The Lady Bulldogs outscored MC by 13 at the end of the final 10 minutes to claim their 23-point win.

Mississippi College led Union 16-14 after the first quarter – the first time this season that MC has held an advantage after the first 10 minutes of play this season. The Lady Choctaws held as much as a seven-point lead early in the contest, 10-3, with just over six minutes to play in the opening quarter.

Union took its first lead since the early going at the 7:22 mark of the second quarter on a Sara Lytle 3-pointer. UU used the trey to spurn its march to a double figure lead, 35-25, with 2:24 left before the half on a pair of free throws from Lytle.

The Red and White grabbed its largest lead of the game, 88-63, with 2:33 left to play on a layup by Bria Gaines.
