MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE NOTES
Mississippi College is riding its longest win streak since the 2010-11 team went 11-0 to start the season. The five straight wins is the longest among current streaks in the GSC.
Olivia Mabry remains the best free throw shooter in the nation. The Meridian, Miss., native is shooting 95 percent from the charity stripe. The closest shooter in the GSC is Ariel Wilson of West Alabama in 28th with a 86.8 clip.
Kelley Allen ranks 15th in the nation in steals per game. The Puckett, Miss., native is averaging 3.2 swipes which leads the GSC. Her 41 steals also sits atop the conference and is 44th in the nation.
Mississippi College's 5-4 record has the Lady Choctaws tied for sixth in the GSC standings, but two games back of West Florida in the top spot.
WEST FLORIDA NOTES
West Florida has won its last two outings as it claimed victories over West Georgia and at West Alabama. The win streak is the second longest among current streaks behind the Lady Choctaws.
West Florida sits atop the Gulf South Conference at 7-2. The Argos were selected third in the GSC Coaches' Preseason Ranking.
Toni Brewer ranks third in the nation with 11 double-doubles on the season while Katie Bobos ranks 42nd with six double-doubles. Brewer's 12.2 boards per game is fourth in the nation and tops in the GSC.
