THE SERIES
Mississippi College hold a 7-5 record against North Alabama. The squads split the meetings last season with each team holding serve on its home floor. MC claimed a 91-80 win on Jan. 4 while UNA picked up a 81-65 decision in Florence. The Lady Choctaws are 5-1 all-time in A.E. Wood Coliseum against the Lions.
MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE NOTES
Mississippi College tied its season-long win streak on Thursday night with a 10-point win over UAH. MC looks to extend the streak to four game on Saturday against UNA.
The duo of
Kelley Allen and
Ashley Minor lead the Lady Choctaws in scoring. Minor is averaging 13.8 points per game and 15.0 in league play while Allen has 13.5 points and a team-best 15.8 in GSC action.
Kaitlyn Thompson tied a season-high with 10 points in the win over UAH. The Cleveland, Miss., native joined Minor and Allen in double figures in the victory. Minor tallied a team-best 19 points while Allen poured in 16 points.
Mississippi College ranks third in the GSC in points per game. MC is averaging 73.5 points this season while North Alabama is fourth with 73.2 points per contest.
NORTH ALABAMA NOTES
North Alabama enters the Saturday tilt tied for tops in the GSC standings with West Florida. The Purple and Gold picked up its sixth conference win on Thursday night with a 57-49 decision at Delta State.
The Lions are 3-2 away from Flowers Hall this season and 1-2 outside the State of Alabama. UNA's lone win outside of the Yellowhammer State came against Delta State.
