CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 6 as the Lady Choctaws (1-1) host Mississippi Valley State University. Match time is set for 6 p.m.

MC and Mississippi Valley State meet for the third time in series history as the Choctaws welcome the Red and Green to A.E. Wood Coliseum for the first time since 2005. The Delta Devilettes have claimed the previous two meetings in the series. MVSU opened the series with a 3-0 win in Itta Bena, Miss., on Oct. 3, 2005 and later claimed a 3-0 win in Clinton on Oct. 19.

Mississippi College is 5-5 all-time against the Southwestern Athletic Conference entering Tuesday evening. The Lady Choctaws are 3-1 against Alcorn State and 2-0 against Jackson State. MC is 0-2 at Grambling along with MVSU.

Jenna Campbell leads the Lady Choctaws in kills this season. The League City, Texas, native totaled 17 kills in the Navy and Gold's first two outings of the season, including a team-best 11 in the three-set win over William Carey.
Sydney Chandler and
Bailee Berringer each registered 20-plus assists in the two contests. Chandler led the way with 28 while Berringer totaled 20.
Madison Kimes led the defensive effort with a total of 28 digs over six sets.

Mississippi Valley State enters the Tuesday night contest riding a one-game skid after falling in three sets to the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga on Aug. 27. The loss to the Mocs marked the third of the season for MVSU, which is 1-3 on the season. The Delta Devilettes lone win came a 3-2 decision over South Carolina State in Chattanooga. The Red and Green opened the campaign with a pair of 3-0 losses to California State-Fullerton and Presbyterian College at the UTC Tournament.

Following the Tuesday outing, Mississippi College returns to action over the weekend at the Lady Choctaws host Williams Baptist (Ark.) and Lyon (Ark.) College on Friday, Sept. 9 as part of the MC-Belhaven Tournament. The Blue and Gold will travel to Jackson, Miss., on Saturday to face Centenary College (La.) and Belhaven.
