CLEVELAND, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team had its three-game win streak snapped on Thursday evening as MC (3-2, 1-1 Gulf South Conference) fell 77-66 at Lee University. Lee improved to 7-1 and 2-0 in the conference.

Kelley Allen and
Ashley Minor scored in double figures for the Lady Choctaws. Allen led the team with 18 points and finished one rebound shy of recording her third double-double of the season with a team-best nine rebounds. Minor provided 13 points.

Mississippi College shot a season-low 31 percent from the field in the contest despite outscoring Lee in second chance points (18-12) and bench points (20-7).

Lee shot 87.5 percent from the free throw line while MC connected on 72.4 percent from the stripe. It marks the third-best percentage for the Lady Choctaws this season. The Flames clip from the charity stripe marked a season-best by MC's opponents.

The Flames placed four players in double figures led by Abby Bertrum's 20 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Lee opened the game with a 15-0 run en route to outscoring Mississippi College 30-10 in the first quarter.

Lee shot 41.9 percent from the field in the contest and led by as many as 22 points at the conclusion of the first quarter.

MC rallied to narrow the deficit to as few as eight points, 67-59, with 2:26 remaining in the game, but couldn't overcome the deficit.
