CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball wraps up its 2016 home slate this weekend as the Lady Choctaws (9-18, 2-14 Gulf South Conference) welcome the University of North Alabama and the University of Alabama in Huntsville to campus. MC opens the weekend slate on Friday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. against UNA and follows with a 2 p.m. outing against UAH on Saturday, Nov. 5.

Prior to the match on Saturday against the Chargers, the volleyball program will honor its lone senior,
Jamila Biglow. Biglow is a two-year letterwinner for the Lady Choctaws from Colorado Springs, Colo. The middle blocker, who transferred to MC from Northwest College, has etched her name into the MC record books as she ranks in the top 10 in career solo blocks (9th – 39), block assists (10th – 88), total blocks (10th – 127) and serve attempts (10th – 383) in just two seasons.

Six Lady Choctaws join Biglow in the career benchmarks for the program, including fellow middle blocker
Kayana Mitchell who also ranks in solo blocks (8th – 40), block assists (3rd – 166), total blocks (4th – 206) and along with kills (10th – 465).

The setter duo of
Sydney Chandler and
Bailee Berringer rank among the program leaders in assists. Chandler, a junior from Silverhill, Ala., sits fifth all-time in assists with 1,191 while Berringer is sixth with 896. Each also sit among the top service leaders with Chandler in second with 854 and Berringer in third with 654.

Madison Kimes ranks eighth in digs in school history with 680 and has 623 service attempts, which is fourth all-time.

Shelby Grace Mays and
Krista Zieschang also joined the serve attempts list at fifth and eighth respectively with 454 and 411 attempts.

Last weekend, a trio of MC players made moves into the single-season records. Kimes recorded her team-best 330th dig to move into ninth – mark that ranks ninth in conference.

Biglow moved into a tie for 10th in solo blocks with three over the weekend, giving her a team-best 22 on the season.
Jenna Campbell's 220 kills places her 10th in the conference.

MC looks to snap six-game skid against UNA and a seven-game streak against UAH. The Lady Choctaws' last win over the Lions came on Sept. 4, 1994 with the last victory over the Chargers coming on Sept. 1, 1994.

North Alabama has won six straight matches entering the weekend action. The Lions are led by Natasha Fomina's 385 kills this season and Lexie Bradley's 71 blocks and 36 service aces. UNA has clinched a berth in the GSC Championships this season - one of three teams to claim a spot in the six-team field.

UAH has dropped six in a row coming into the Saturday match. The Chargers are paced by Haley Hop and her 383 digs while Anna Claire Johnson has 262 kills and 31 aces on the season.

Mississippi College closes out the 2016 campaign on next weekend with road trips to Lee University (Nov. 11) and Shorter University (Nov. 12).
