ROME, Ga. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 contest to Shorter University on Saturday afternoon. MC concludes the season with a 10-21 record and 3-17 in the Gulf South Conference. Shorter improved to 22-6 and17-3 in the conference.

Shelby Grace Mays and
Jenna Campbell paced the Lady Choctaws' offensive attack with six kills each.
Ashton King added five kills to finish third on the team in kills in the contest.
Bailee Berringer led MC with 10 assists.

Defensively,
Jamila Biglow collected three blocks to lead the squad while
Madison Kimes supplied 14 digs. Biglow wrapped up her two-year career in Clinton as she ranks among the top 10 in program history in solo blocks, block assists and total blocks.

After MC was setback in the first set 25-16, the Navy and Gold fought back in the second and third sets before falling 25-19 in each.

The two stood deadlocked at 15-all in the second set, but SU would break the tie with a 7-1 run to take a 22-16 lead.
Madison Girndt interrupted the spurt with a kill, but the Hawks garnered the next two points to claim a 24-17 advantage.

Mays and a SU attack error pulled MC within 24-19 to halt the match-clinching point, however, a MC attack miscue stopped the attempt at a come-from-behind set win and gave the Hawks the set.

The Lady Choctaws took a narrow, 15-13 lead in the third set, but Shorter answered with a 5-0 run to take an 18-15 lead. The two squads exchanged the next few points with SU still clinging to a narrow lead, but the Hawks again forced a scoring run, this time a 6-1 run, to claim the set and the match.

Shorter was led by Elizabeth Dowd's 11 kills and four blocks.
