CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College volleyball team closes out the 2016 campaign this weekend as the Lady Choctaws travel to Lee University and Shorter University. MC faces Lee on Friday, Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. and concludes with Noon contest against Shorter on Saturday, Nov. 12.

Mississippi College secured its first 10-win season since 2012 last Saturday with a 3-1 victory on Senior Day against the University of Alabama in Huntsville. A sweep this weekend would tie the number of wins in 2012.

The Lady Choctaws seek their first win over Lee University and Shorter University as the Flames and Hawks both hold 5-0 records against the Navy and Gold in the series.

Bailee Berringer and
Sydney Chandler rank among the conference leaders in assists this season. Berringer has 456 assists, which is 11th in the conference while Chandler is 15th in the league with 393.

MC has received solid defensive performances during the 2016 season from
Kayana Mitchell and
Jamila Biglow at the net while
Madison Kimes has defended the backline for MC. Mitchell is ninth in the GSC in total blocks with 78 while Biglow is 13th with 74. Kimes ranks eighth in the conference in digs with 364.

Shorter and Lee University will face off on Thursday evening at Shorter.

Lee is currently riding a two-game, win streak while Shorter has won its last five and clinched a berth in the Gulf South Conference Volleyball Championships.

LU is led by Silvia Sartori with 298 kills on the season while MaKayla Beebe leads the defensive charge with 477 digs. Elizabeth Dowd paces SU with 288 kills on the campaign with Tiffani Estep fourth in the GSC in blocks with 95.
