Choctaws Fall at #22 Delta State, 80-53

CLEVELAND, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team could not overcome a cold-shooting night in an 80-53 loss to #22 Delta State on Saturday afternoon at Walter Sillers Coliseum.

The Choctaws (5-8, 4-7 GSC) were just 18-of-60 (30%) from the floor and were outrebounded 49-33 in the loss to the rival Statesmen (13-4, 8-3 GSC).

Sophomore Stacey Mack (McComb, Miss.) scored a career-high 19 points, going 8-of-13 from the field and making a career-high three from behind the 3-point arc. He was the only Choctaw to score in double-figures.

Senior Tory Rice tied a career-high with 16 rebounds, including nine on the offensive end, to go along with five points.

The Statesmen were led by All-American Devin Schmidt, who scored 20 points, despite going 7-of-18 from the field. James Kilpatrick and Terry Morris scored 14 points apiece, while Jack Madgen had 10.

The Choctaws will be back in action on Thursday night when they will play their first home game in 17 days, hosting West Georgia at 7:30 p.m. in A.E. Wood Coliseum.
