CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team dropped their second non-conference match of the season to Florida Tech 1-0.
Florida Tech (2-0) took the lead in the first half as Adin Kavara found the back of the net in the 29th minute of play off an assist by Will Henderson.
The Choctaws (0-2) were out-shot by the Panthers in the first half 11-5. Mississippi College became more competitive in the second half as both teams had four shots on goal.
With three minutes remaining in the game, MC had a great opportunity as junior
Victor Marinho (Sao Paulo, Brazil) served the ball to
Kendall Carballo (Goicoechea, San Jose) who headed the ball just wide of the goal.
The Choctaws goalie, sophomore
Humberto Pelaez (Panama City, Panama) and the Panthers goalie, Mitch Thorn had four saves each.
The Choctaws will be back in action on Thursday, September 11th as they host Barry at 3:30 p.m. at Longabaugh Field.
